TISHY BUDDEN Hand-made Clay and Porcelain Bowls and Jewellery
I work from my studio in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, UK. I enjoy experimenting with the colours and textures in glazes. As a result I have produced a selection of simple jewellery consisting of porcelain earrings and button brooches with my glassy ‘peacock’ glazes. As well as a range of beaded necklaces and bracelets made out of clay and porcelain displaying a variety of textures, and experimental stoneware glazes. I now also use paper clay porcelain to make press moulded flower and rabbit beaded necklaces, enamelled with gold and pink or blue with platinum. I also make multi coloured porcelain flowers connected by handmade chains and cockle shells - a 'rural idyll' in a 'fifties' style. These are influenced by a combination Staffordshire flat back mantle piece animals and the long flower necklaces found with the Cheapside Hoard in London.
